The Falling Gallery

Where falling becomes
a form of seeing.

An original art experience inspired by the fall of Icarus. Created independently and later sold to a client, the gallery takes visitors from an open sky into a museum of chosen moments.

The problem

The Falling Gallery began as my own experiment, before it found a client. I wanted to turn the story of Icarus into an experience people could move through. The challenge was to make the fall feel meaningful while still giving each artwork room to be seen and understood.

The strategy

I used the descent as the structure of the experience. The journey starts with Icarus in an open sky, moves through clouds, and arrives inside a gallery. A visitor's chosen view becomes the opening artwork, connecting their interaction with the exhibition that follows. That original concept became the project I later sold to a client.

The decisions

Pair the illustrated sky with warm clouds and ornate frames to connect the myth with the feeling of a museum. Carry the visitor's selected view into the first framed piece, making their moment of looking part of the gallery. Shift to deep red walls for the exhibition, then give each artwork a clear title, artist, date, and description. Let movement guide the transition while the artwork remains the focus.
