ClientPanel Press

A living archive for the love of ink, paper, and possibility. Iconic comic covers become tactile 3D books to explore, turn, and open.

The problem

Panel Press needed an archive that captured the appeal of collecting comics. Showing the covers was only part of it. The website also needed to give people a reason to stop, explore, and discover the stories behind them.

The strategy

For Panel Press, the cover had to come first. I shaped the archive around books people could turn and open, with issue details and credits close by. The print-inspired colours and textures give the collection its character without competing with the artwork.

The decisions

Give every edition room to turn and open. Pair drag interaction with visible controls and keyboard navigation, then keep issue numbers, publication dates, and creative credits beside each book. Colour choices change the printed atmosphere. On mobile, stack the cover and its story so both remain readable.
